The Future of Exercise
For many years, people have talked about (and undoubtedly wanted) a pill that could be used in lieu of exercising. According to a recent article, it looks like research is headed in that direction. It looks like there are at least two existing drugs that could make it possible to get fit without the work and discipline. Hmmm.
I pondered whether or not I would go this route, given that I don’t particularly enjoy exercising. I concluded that it wouldn’t be appropriate for me, at least not while I’m fully able to exercise should I choose to do so. Plus, I’m actually starting to like exercising again (at least at the moment).
Nonetheless, I could see where such a pill could be beneficial. In particular, I think about my brother whose struggling with sarcoidosis and the fallout of years of steroids that has wrecked so much havoc on his body that he can’t exercise. Such a solution, if it didn’t cause even more damage, could be the answer to people in situations like this one.
