Teaching vs. Coaching
In the previous posts, I talked about what I am—a teacher and a coach who helps people be living works of art. These roles as very different, so I wanted to point out the distinctions briefly.
- As a teacher, I provide solutions to people. These solutions can take the form of information or processes delivered via books, videos, workshops, and other products, resources, or services.
- As a coach, I help people discover solutions. These solutions can take the form of information or processes that they reveal themselves through inquiry, meditation, deep breathing, and other techniques.
These roles are like the two sides of a coin. It’s important for me to do both; that’s why I create systems that integrate teaching and coaching.
We learn and solve problems in many different ways. I trust people’s ability to find or produce the solutions that are best for them. My goal is to make it easy for people to do so.
